SmartFloat Stack

Float everything responsively

The SmartFloat stack makes it possible to float any content responsively. In other words: there’s a ‘floating element’ (left or right) and a ‘wrapping element’ (usually with mainly text) wrapping around it. On smaller screens, the floating element can be shown above the wrapping element.

Look! I'm floating to the left on big screens, but positioned above the wrapping element on small screens.
The Smartfloat Stack is loaded with option. To show you the possibilities of this stack, I’ve made a lot of demos. Please visit the demo site to see them.

This stack is really easy to use, despite all its options. To learn the full potential of the SmartFloat stack, please read the manual.

I’m a big fan of floating elements, but I’ve been struggling with them quite a bit, specially on smaller screens where floating is not a good idea due to the lack of width. I developed this stack to overcome those difficulties.

When the visitor has JavaScript disabled in his browser, or uses Internet Explorer 8 or worse, the opacity settings will not work.
In Edit mode, not all settings are shown, but you will get an idea of what’s happening.
