Antiquify Stack

modifies text to make it look like it came straight off an old press
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, sapien platea morbi dolor lacus nunc, nunc ullamcorper. Felis aliquet egestas vitae, nibh ante quis quis dolor sed mauris. Erat lectus sem ut lobortis, adipiscing ligula eleifend, sodales fringilla mattis dui nullam. Ac massa aliquet.

Don’t tell me you missed it :).

Select the option text inside this stack to show a text area inside the stack. This area also accepts images.
Select the option custom areas (advanced) to ‘antiquify’ text outside the stack (like the sidebar). This option is meant for advanced users only and the use of it is not supported (you can also use DooBox’ Teleporter Stack or the PlusKit Plugin by YourHead).
The effect looks best on black (or at least dark) text on a white (or at least light) background in a not-too-small, not-too-thick font, preferably serif — but feel free to experiment and disagree!
The effect is applied randomly when the page loads, so it will look a little different each time.
o mimic the old book style even more, you can indent paragraphs. Usually, the first paragraph on a page was not intended, so there’s an option for that too.
Keep it simple. This is a fun stack with some serious limitations (see below).

Use this stack for small pieces of text only like quotes (above), citations (appropriate example), call-to-action boxes etc. Too much (like on this page!) makes text hard to read.
Avoid special characters (like nbsp;) and styling of the text. It may break the script, resulting in showing the characters used to make those special characters or styling.
Applying the effect to JavaScript generated text like a ‘protected’ (obfuscated) email address in the footer will also break the script.
Links inside this stack to call a JavaScript action like opening a lightbox may not always work.

This stack is just a silly Holiday present in 2016 for the RapidWeaver community. It is based on the Antiquify plugin by Matthew Gonzalez.

Please use this form to report all issues, questions and comments.

This stack requires RapidWeaver (version 7 or higher) and the Stacks plugin by YourHead (version 3.5 or higher).

I HAVE endeavoured in this Ghostly little book, to raise the Ghost of an Idea, which shall not put my readers out of humour with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me. May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it.

Their faithful Friend and Servant,

C. D.
